2019 FLEET 4 KINGSTON TRAINING WEEKEND
Date: Saturday and Sunday July 20-21, 2019
Location: Kingston Yacht Club
Coach: Richard Mundell. Richard is an experience 505 sailor/coach. A graduate of the National Coaching Institute in Victoria, Canada. Richard started his career as a professional sailing coach working with Canadian’s provincial and national team athletes. He leaved in California for several years and trained/raced regularly with the top US West Coast 505 teams. The last two years he helped coach during the annual fall LA Teams’ Tuesday training camps. These are done along with Jay and Pease Glaser. They are organized by Howie Hamlin and the ‘Team Tuesday’ gang in LA. They’re run out of Long Beach (Alamitos Bay YC) and typically include Howie Hamlin, Mike M, Mike Holt, and many of the other more active boats on the west coast; including boats from BC Canada, the PNW fleets and the Northern and Southern CA fleets. Richard just returned from the 2019 505 Worlds where he coached a team consisting of; (USA) Mike Holt/Carl Smit – placed 2nd, (USA) Howie Hamlin/Jeff Nelson – placed 5th, (GBR) Ian Pinnell/Reeve Dunn – placed 7th, (CAN) Bob Tennant/Steve Bourdow – placed 16th, (AUS) Kevin Cameron/Sam Heritage – placed 17th, (USA) Ted Conrads/Brian Haines – placed 19th, and (USA) Tim Murphy/Andrew Sutton – placed 56th.
Training fee per team: $130 CDN
The training weekend is offer to a maximum of 12 teams. Priority is given to Canadian teams but US teams are welcome to attend if places are available. Please confirm your intention to participate as soon as possible to Martin Hicks mort@bork.org
